What you’ll be doing:

We’re looking for an organised, enthusiastic and proactive individual to take on a key leadership role as Shift Supervisor within our dairy operations, collecting milk for ofi (Olam Food Ingredients), based in Tokoroa.

This position involves dispatching trucks, supervising a team of drivers, and ensuring a smooth and seamless dairy collection process. Reporting to our Central North Island Operations Manager, the successful candidate will play a vital role in upholding a team culture of high performance and maintaining our high standards of compliance and operational excellence.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to high standards in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Work pattern:

Full-time, permanent roles with a rotating 3/3/3 roster:

  • 3 days on, 3 nights on, 3 days off.
  • Average shifts: 10-12 hours (flexibility is required to suit business and seasonal needs) 

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in operations – you’ve been in the transport industry for a while, with hands-on experience in dispatching, scheduling, and leading teams – preferably with knowledge of milk collection.
  • Leadership skills – you’re able to inspire and lead teams, ensuring everyone works together to get the job done in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer focus – you’ll always keep clients happy by ensuring service is efficient, professional, and top-notch.
  • Communication – you’re great at talking to people, whether it’s internal or external stakeholders, e.g. your team, clients, customers, farmers or suppliers.
  • Transport sector knowledge – you’ve got a solid background in transport and logistics.
  • Health and safety – you know how to keep a workplace safe, with the ability to role-model safe working practices and lead effective toolbox meetings.
  • Tech savvy – you’re relatively computer literate and able to learn, manage and effectively utilise relevant technology, and efficiently enter data.
  • Problem solving skills – able to think on your feet, suggest solutions to challenges, and effectively distribute company-wide and divisional messages
  • Local knowledge – if you know the area well, that’s a bonus!
