Management Accountant

The Role

We are looking for a permanent Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This position will provide financial insight to our busy operations divisions, reporting into the Financial Controller.

This role blends management accounting with exposure to core financial accounting areas, offering a broad scope within a high-performing finance team.

 You will take ownership of monthly management reporting ensuring accuracy and completeness while delivering high-quality analysis to support management decision-making. Alongside management accounts, you will oversee the fixed assets and cashflow forecasts, assist the Financial Controller with budgeting, forecasting and future planning and working closely with the wider finance team to ensure strong financial control.

Whether you're Timaru based or Christchurch based, we are flexible.

About You

• 5 + years’ experience with management or commercial accounting within a large operationally complex organization
• Tertiary educated, preferably completed or working towards CA or AT
• Strong IT skills, ERP accounting systems and BI experience with the ability to learn new systems quickly
• Significant preference for candidates with use of Microsoft Dynamics - BC system
• Thrives in a high-pressure environment
• ·  Advanced Excel spreadsheeting skills, in particular with formulas and pivot tables
• Attention to detail, accuracy, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to translate financial information into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders
• An understanding of the transport and/or logistics industry would be an advantage
